Organising Your Kitchen The NEFF Way

Aug 28, 2019 | Neff, Neff News

If you find yourself endlessly looking for different items in the kitchen or if you have double or even triple the number of ingredients you need because you didn’t realise you had one then it might be time to pay some attention to your kitchen. Whether your kitchen is small or large it always helps to keep it organised for easy use. We have created a guide which will help you organise your kitchen to make the most of the space and to create a kitchen which you enjoy being in.

A Blank Canvas

When organising your kitchen the best thing to do is to start with a blank canvas. Pull out everything and assess what work needs to be done before you start. You should think about each item very carefully and ask yourself questions such as, “ When did I last use this?” If the answer is never it may be best to either sell it or chuck it away. You could set up three boxes labelled, “Charity”, “Bin”, “Sell”. This will easily determine what you are doing with all of the bits and bobs you find around your kitchen. Of course, If you would like to keep it, just put it to one side to put back later.

Spring Cleaning

If you have followed the first step you will now have an empty kitchen. This is now the perfect time to give everything a deep clean. This will allow you to start a complete fresh when it comes to putting all of your items back. You will have a clean kitchen to start decorating like you did when you first fell in love with it.  Some surfaces will be harder to clean than others for example burned on hob stains over time can prove stubborn to remove. If you have an induction hob for instance, the sleek, flat finished surface will be very easy to clean as direct heat is not actually produced from induction cooking zones and therefore won’t burn on any spillages. Planning

Before you begin returning all of your items, you should step back and look at the entire kitchen and assess which items are best placed where. You should put your kitchen equipment in its required sections so that having it nearby can make short easy work of any tasks you are carrying out. Your sections could include; everyday items, cooking appliances, accessories, pantry items, coffee and tea, etc. At NEFF we understand how important it is for any cooking enthusiast to have the tools of their culinary trade within reach which is why our Built-in accessory drawer is a must have when planning your kitchen layout.

Saving Space

At NEFF we recognise how difficult it can be to keep organised in the kitchen especially when it comes to food storage. Food nowadays comes in so many different shapes and sizes it can be hard to place it all in the cupboards at all, let alone in a space-effective and visually accessible way. We would recommend using storage containers in your cupboards as this is the best way of maximising space whilst also segmenting different products. Square or rectangular storage containers are usually the best as they stack up very easily. Don’t forget to label these boxes clearly so you don’t get confused.

Saving space need not be limited to cupboards and keeping your fridge organised is also a big part of saving space in the long run. At NEFF, we have designed a range of built-in fridge freezers that are equipped to meet just about any storage demand whilst also seamlessly blending into your kitchen. Models such as the KI5852F30G  offer a generous net capacity of 259 litres and up to 4 adjustable safety glass shelves to give you ample storage options.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

When it comes to food storage it really is a case of out of mind. Make sure in your kitchen you are able to see and reach everything around you. It is very easy to forget about something when you don’t see it right in front of you. We have all found something at the back of our cupboards which we don’t remember buying. Organise your food so that you only have foods which you know you will enjoy and love to cook with.
